ONLINE SAFETY

Keeping yourself secure in today's online age is important.
Here are some helpful tips in keeping your personal information safe.

  • If you are suspicious of a call, ask for their name and extension and call them back using the number you are familiar with for the business.

  • Keep your antivirus software up-to-date.

  • If an unsolicited email offer seems too good to be true, it likely is.

  • Do not use online banking websites or apps when connected to public Wi-Fi.

  • Do not make online payments or purchases when connected to public Wi-Fi.

  • A business or financial institution will never ask for your personal information in an email.

  • Carefully consider what information you share publicly to social networks; hackers can use this to gain an insight on your security questions.

  • Use only one card for all online purchases.

  • Do not allow your computer or phone to “remember” your password.

  • Never click on links from emails you were not expecting or from an email you do not recognize.
